With the unit OFF,  press and hold the NEAR key  and turn the unit on. The SYSTEM MENU will appear. There will be a menu selection titled “RAM Clear.” Highlight this option and press ENTER.

From the Map mode press twice the MENU key, select CHECKLISTS and press ENTER to confirm. Choose which list you want to edit.

Thanks to the software version 1.10.044R it is now possible to modify the Checklists. From the Map mode press twice the MENU key, select CHECKLISTS and press ENTER to confirm. Choose which list you want to edit.

In order to work, the Reset Remote Control needs the navigator to be plugged to the power supply (through car charger or home power supply cable).
 
Please verify also: 
 
- that the Trip Master button has been connected to the right input ( on the right side of Geosat, I/O input )
 
- that you have selected the right setting ( Geosat Crossover model):  
  Menu - 4x4 Functions - Serial Port - Ext.Button

At the end of the power cable, where the 12v adapter is, you will find a small fuse. If it is blown, please replace it with one of the same amperage.

NOTE. you need the software version 2.13.156R or newer in order to use this feature. In case your software is older update it downloading from the site. 

To check which map version is pre-loaded on your navigator:
1.Open the Navigation menu
2.Touch the Setting button
3.Touch System info
4.Select the Map page. The Map version is indicated with a name e.g. ITALY, followed by  the version.

 

The versioning system has been changed to along with the map data provider. Please refer to this table to understand the hostory of versioning, the relative map supplier and the date of release.

EKP V can be connected to the autopilot using the “USB – serial converter cable” .
You can find it on AvMap Store – Aeronautical accessories – EKP V.
 
This cable must be connected to the USB connections of the power cigarette cable. When the device has been connected to the cigarette – USB plug the a window will be shown.
 
The customer has to set “Autopilot” and then “Menu – Tools – Autopilot”. In this menu the customer will can set the interface connections settings in according with the istructions of the autopilot user manual.
 
As a resume please follow these standard istructions:
 
- Connect the TX pin of our SERIAL SPARE PART (USB-Serial or Docking Station serial when it will be available) to the RX pin of the autopilot.
 
- Then connect both GND (ground) pins together.
 
- To find the correct pins location on the autopilot please refer to the Autopilot User Manual itself.
 
 

You can update the software on your Motivo with the last release ONLY if you already  have an AvMap SD Card.

If you don’t have an AvMap SD card in it it means that it is an old generation Motivo and you need to request an RMA to [email protected].
( Motivo must be shipped to the AvMap Support Center for a complete upgrade procedure ).

If you already have the SD card:

1. Connect Motivo to the PC thorugh USB cable and wait forthe hardware to be recognized

2. Find the internal Motivo disk recognized into “My Computer section”

3.  Download the Motivo Update tool for free

4.  Extract the zipped folder to obtain the .exe file

5.  Launch the .exe file doing “double click” on it, when the window will be open you will see a message, on the right side of the that window, that shows you If the Motivo software is updated or not. If it is not updated, click on “Software update” button and wait for the end of the procedure. When the software has been updated, clocse the Motivo Update window and do the safety eject of the device from your PC

6. Disconnect Motivo from the PC by USB connection and restart it with an on/off switch

7. Wait for the turning on procedure and access to Menu – System Info – Software to see if the software has been correctly updated

You can update your map in two ways:

1. Extend your horizons and buy a new  AvMap SD card peloaded with new software and maps, directly on our Shop Online: choose your navigator and click on  'Buy new memory card' , then choose the desired area / special map. The new memory card will be delivered to you.

2. You can dowload the update for your map through the Geosat Suite, saving time and money. Once you have installed Geosat Suite, just connect your navigator to the PC with the USB cable and the Suite will warn you automatically every time an update for your device is available.

N.B. For Geosat 6 APRS, Geosat 6 Regolarità and G6 Farmnavigator, use the Geosat Suite.

The update to the latest software version available can be done through Geosat Suite, the  free Desktop application by AvMap.

Geosat Suite  helps you keeping your Geosat up-to-date and allows you customizing your contents and sharing them with your friends. Once you have installed Geosat Suite, just connect your navigator to the PC with the USB cable and the Suite will warn you automatically every time an update for your device is available.

1. Download the Geosat Suite User Manual

2. Download Geosat  Suite on your PC/ MAC and install it (this opertaion is necessary only the first time).

3. Disconnect the Geosat from the power supply.

4.  Connect the Geosat to the PC through USB.
Attention: we recommend to connect the Geosat  to a USB port on the back of the PC, and to avoid the front ports, multi-hub devices and USB extension cables.

5. Wait for the hardware to be recognized as a double disc ( local disk + removable local disk  in My Computer) and close the windows on the disks that will be opened automatically.

6. Follow n the Geosat Suite Manual the instructions to set the Geosat Suite and make your first Geosat Software Update.

7. After the software update, follow the procedure to reset the Operative System.

Connect your Geosat to the PC periodically, to keep it up-to-date! 

In order to update your GP II you need a memory card reader, you cannot update your SD/ CF  without it.

1. First of all download and unzip the update files from our support section.

2. Enable the show of hidden files. Create on your Desktop the folder 'Old SD/ CF'  and copy in it all the files from the SD/ CF (is the backup folder if something goes wrong).  Omit to copy the 'CHARTS' folder. Create on your Desktop the folder 'New SD/ CF' and copy in it the same files you copied in 'Old SD/ CF'.

3. Replace the files format swx in 'New SD/ CF' with the ones you downloaded from internet. Ovewrite the files in the SD/ CF
with the ones in 'New SD/ CFD' (do not touch the CHART folder).

Turn on the Geopilot and check if the procedure was correctly executed. If not, reinstall in the SD the files from 'Old SD/ CFD' and repeat the procedure.


WARNING: this procedure can delete all user marks from the RAM. Save them first in the SD with File Manager.

In order to update your EKP you need a CF reader, you cannot update your CF without it.
First of all download and unzip the update files from our support section.

EKP V can be connected to the PC through USB cable, and data can be improted through the AvMap Suite Desktop application.

How to Transfer contents from EKP V to PC and viceversa

You can explore the contents of your EKP V such as flight plans, User Marks and recorded tracks and save them in your PC in order to share them with friends. You can also add contents from your PC to the EKP V.
1. Click on the Explore Device button. The left column lists the content of your EKP V, while the right column shows the items saved in your PC
2. Click on the links on the left to display the desired contents of the EKP V (User marks, Tracks, Flight plans)
3. Save them on your PC clicking on “Export to PC” button. The Suite will create:
• A unique GPX file for all your saved User marks
• A GPX and KMZ file for each saved track
• A GPX and FDX file for each saved Flight plan
The files will be created inside the C:\Documents and Settings\[PC_username]\Documents\EKP V\ folder. You can choose a different destination folder in the Settings menu, in the “Destination Folders” page.

This content can be imported in another EKP V. You can also add contents (User marks, Tracks, Flight plans) from your PC to your EKP V:

1. Click the “Explore Device” button: a window will open up showing the contents of your PC
2. Click the “Add” button to browse other folders in your PC
3. Choose the file to transfer (GPX file with contacts, GPX or KMZ file with Tracks or XML and FDX files with Flight Plans)
4. Click the “Import to EKP” button to transfer the file in your EKP

How to  Import or export Flight Plans
AvMap suite allows to export/import your flight plans to/from the PC so that you can view them on Google Earth or many other Flight Planning software, and share them with friends. The supported formats are .gpx (Google Earth) and .fdx (Seattle Avionics Voyager).
How to export a flight plan:
1. Click on the Explore Device button, and click on the Flight Plan link on the left. In the left column you can find the flight plans saved on your EKP V, while in the right column you can find contents saved in your PC
2. Select a Flight plan. You can select all the flight plans by clicking on the checked box below the left window, or deselect all by clicking the unchecked box below the left window
3. Click the ‘Export to Pc’ button, you will see two the files appearing in the right column: the flight plan will be saved both in .fdx and in .gpx format to your PC. You can select all the flight plans by clicking on the checked box below the left window (deselect all by clicking the unchecked box below the left window).


How to import a flight plan:
1. Vice versa, to import a flight plan from the PC to the EKP V select the .gpx or .fdx file from the right column. You can select all the flight plans by clicking on the checked box below the right window, or deselect all by clicking the unchecked box below the left window
2. Click the ‘Import to Pc’ button and you will see the file appearing in the left column. The Flight plan will be imported to your EKP V and will be immediately available in the FP page of the unit.

In order to update your EKP V Software, get the AvMap Suite! The AvMap  Suite is a PC application that helps you keeping your EKP V up-to-date, managing maps and sharing contents.

AvMap releases periodically free software updates for its navigators. Keeping your EKP V Software up-to-date is important for a safer and better navigation experience.

How to install AvMap Suite

1. Download the AvMap Suite User Manual

2. Download AvMap Suite on your PC and install it  following the manual instructions (this opertaoin is necessary only the first time).

3. Disconnect the EKP V from the power supply.

4.  Connect the EKP V the PC through USB.

5. Wait for the device recognition: when the operating system of your PC recognizes the navigator as a mass
storage device (a splash screen showing the USB icon appears on the navigator’s display),

6. Follow  the  Suite Manual the instructions to set the AvMap Suite and make your first EKP V  Software Update.

How to Update The Software

The AvMap Suite informs you each time a new software version for your navigator is available

1. Click on “Install” button to install the software in your device

2. At the end of the installing process, please follow the procedure that appears on the screen to reset the Operative System.:

3. Locate the reset hole in the lower part of the navigator

4. Insert a pointy object in the hole

5. Release the Reset hole

After the software has been updated,  restart the Suite.


Connect your Geosat to the PC periodically, to keep it up-to-date!

Starting from the Map View, click the FP button.

On the FP page, scroll the menu until you reach the Waypoint you need to change/edit. Click the joystick to open the WPT Menu. Select ALTITUDE to change the quote of that Waypoint.

 

If the VP Graph is active you will see the same graph changing in real time.

The range of temperature at which the EKP V  must be used  is:

FOR  A  NORMAL USE : MIN :  - 20°C / - 4°F

                                       MAX:    60°C /   140°F

 

FOR STORAGE CONDITIONS: MIN :  - 30°C / - 22°F

                                                 MAX:    80°C /   176°F

 

IMPORTANT: The maximum temperature for the storage of the product is intended WITHOUT BATTERY. The battery MUST BE REMOVED if the temperature exceeds 60 ° C (140 ° F), because it could explode.

First of all verify that the led on the 220V Usb charger or the led on the cigarette cable is working.

This it should be caused by the battery; If  the  battery  is  complete discharged, it could be necessary to remove it and then to power up

the unit on external power. Once the  unit  is  running  re-insert  the battery.

EKPV can be supplied using the 12V cigarette lighter cable, provided in the package, or by the power supply  wall cable, which is also provided.

 

IMPORTANT: The voltage must not exceed 5.5V.

To connect the power cable, find the slot on the top of the browser and insert the cable with the adhesive facing up.
To turn EKPV on, hold the PWR key for a couple of seconds.
 
If properly connected, on browser’s display appears  an icon that indicates the battery charging status.

If properly connected, on the display of the navigator an icon appears that indicates the battery charging status.

 CAUTION:

• To get the most from Li-ion battery, we recommend first a full 12 hours charge.
• For charging, use only the power adapter and cable provided in the package, to avoid damaging the device.
• Avoid the improper use and the short-circuit : the battery may explode
 

 

 

 

For charging the battery of your navigator, use only the power adapter and cable provided in the package, to avoid damaging the device.

A full charge takes about 6 hours.

For the battery charge to be activated, the device should be in stand-by mode( sleep mode ), just turn it off normally but LEAVE the button before the 3 seconds countdown.

If the device is ON during the charge, the charging time of battery will take about 12 hours.

 

 

 

 

 

First you should always check the structure of your browser on page x in the user manual.

With EKP V off follow this sequence of operations:

 

1. Open the battery compartment cover
2. Insert the Micro SD
3. Insert the battery into the compartment
4. Close the battery storage compartment

Yes, you can. In order to do this, you need a memory card reader.

In order to save your marks from a Compact Flash or SD to another one  you need to save them in FILE MANAGER.

Press twice the MENU key, select FILE MANAGER and press the ENT key. Then press the ENT key again. The File Save To Disk window is displayed. Once you have edited the name and the type fields select OK and press the ENT key to confirm. A Warning message is displayed. Select OK and press the ENT key to save your marks or tracks.

Put the Compact Flash or SD of your AvMap Geosat in a CF or SD reader, save the file UserImg.bin on your PC and secondly transfer that file in another memory card.


To restore the mark rescued, enter FILE MANAGER press once the MENU key and select LOAD.  A Warning message is displayed. Select OK and press the ‘+’ key to restore your marks on the map.
 

( Verify that the last 2 numbers on the lable of your card are at least .01, if the code finish as .00 this procedure should not work )

Ho to know your map version:
To know whether your map needs to be updated or not, you need to know its version and then check whether that is the latest one available on the AvMap web site.
1. Press twice the MENU button to open the Main Menu.
2. Select ABOUT and confirm by pressing +.
3. The about page contains all the info related to software and cartography. The cartography version is detailed in the
bottom: Map Name and Version (V.x)
The next step is to verify whether there is a newer version available in the shop online http://www.avmap.it/index.php?swt=0505

How to buy a new map:
In the Map shop, choose your navigator and click on  'Buy new memory card' , then choose the desired area / special map. The new memory card will be delivered to you.

How to save your personal data:
Before inserting in the navigator the new memory card, make sure you save your personal data with the 'file management' function. Updating the map data may cause the loss of your user Marks. To avoid this inconvenience it is recommended that you save the Marks and tracks that you have created.
1. Press the MENU button twice, select File manager and press the + button to confirm.
The memory is initialised automatically and prepared for saving the data. The space already used on the Secure Digital is shown in the lower part of the display.
2. Press the MENU button. The File menu will open.
3. Select Save and press the + button to confirm.
4. The Save to disc window will open. The Name field is outlined with a dotted line, Press the + button to open the virtual keyboard.
5. Insert the name for the file using the JOYSTICK to select the letters. After each letter, press the + button. When the name is completed select ENT on the virtual keyboard and confirm by pressing the + button.
6. Move the JOYSTICK to select Type, press the + button and select the type of data to be saved – i.e. Marks or Tracks. Press the + button to confirm.
7. Move the JOYSTICK to select OK and press the + button to confirm.
8. A warning message will be displayed. Press the + button to save the Marks. It is possible to save up to 1000 Marks.

Insert the new memory card and reload your personal data:
1. Press the MENU button twice, select File manager and press the + button to confirm.
2. Select the saved file that contains the Mark to be reloaded. Press the MENU button. The File menu will open.
3. Select Load and press the + button. A warning message will open. To load the Marks select OK and press the + button to
confirm.

How to delete the user data:
To permanently delete a file containing user data (your Marks/Tracks):
1. Press the MENU button twice, select File manager and press the + button to confirm.
2. Select the file to be deleted. Press the MENU button. The File menu will open.
3. Select Delete and press the + button. A warning message will be displayed. To delete the Marks/Tracks select OK and
press the + button to confirm. It is not possible to overwrite the content of an existing file. The refresh option is used to read the content of the Secure Digital card again when the saved marks folder(s) have been updated.

To optimize the reception of the GPS antenna is recommended to open and lift the cover and make sure it is positioned as parallel as possible to the sky. The receive status is visible on all pages, including the map, through the icon with the satellite.           

Three green bars indicates an excellent reception, and the icon with a red bar and the triangle with the CAUTION signal indicates that the signal is absent.

Please verify:

 

- that reset button is inserted into the correct input

correct input is the I / O , on the right side of the device

 

- that Geosat is correctly connected to the magnetmount + cigarette power-cable and that the device is correctly powered by the magnetmount;

access to the map and see on the right low corner. If you see the battery icon + a lightning icon the device is correctly powered.

 

- that external button is correctly setted on Menu - 4x4 functions - 4x4 settings - serial port

  PC/EXT.BUTTON

 

The Airline Airway, Control Airway and Direct Route Airway are showed from 5 Nm. This is the default setting. It is also possible to select them in scale 50 Nm, 20 Nm, 10 Nm. The Official Designated Airway and RNAV Airway have been set from scale 50 Nm.

Geosend is a software that allows you to transfer one map only to your Geosat memory card. For this reason you must not use it with 1 or 2 GB Compact Flash, otherwise you will delete the European Database without a possibility to load it again by yourself.
